New Year's Day Tamales
To celebrate 2010, we cooked, assembled, and steamed a big batch of tamales today with friends. What a fantastic way to begin the new year! I have a feeling that a New Year's Day tradition has begun.

I freakin' LOVE tamales. Why didn't I see this post earlier?! Was it fun? A huge pain? Can I have a recipe? I have always wanted to get in on one of those family tamale making sessions so I can cache some home for myself!
I'll send you the recipe -- it's not that much work when you have people to help assemble. A fun afternoon! And now we have a dozen homemade tamales in our freezer, just waiting for us.
